Southeastern PA RC&D Council projects have had a positive impact on 49% of the municipalities in our seven county region. The number of projects per county that we have been involved in is given below.

Berks – 44 locations
Bucks – 41 locations
Chester – 31 locations
Delaware – 53 locations
Lehigh – 36 locations
Montgomery – 32 locations
Northampton – 40 locations

Projects the Council has completed  include:

• Removing a dam
• Sponsoring workshops for community groups on grant writing, non-profit management, director responsibilities, fundraising and marketing.
• Stream restoration
• Purchasing farm equipment for farmers to borrow
• No-till vegetable planting
• Barnyard water improvement
• Alternative wastewater workshop
• Workshops for farmers and land owners on identification and control of noxious weeds
• Taking low-income senior citizens and WIC participants to farmers markets

Some of our current projects include:

• Assisting small municipalities with stormwater issues
• An alternative energy project to convert farm crops into bio-oil,
• Loaning environmental groups rakes, shovels, and other tools to plant native trees and shrubs on stream banks
• Holding entrepreneurship workshops for high school students
